Earth Day in your own backyard . . .

I LOVE EARTH Day. I love hanging hummingbird feeders, planting butterfly bushes and building bat houses, but you don’t need a lot of fancy pre-fangled fanfare to celebrate:

Throw a few extra seeds out for our feathered friends . . .

Create a wildlife habitat . . .  you’ll need a water source . . .

a lake, pond, dish of water, or even a sprinkler . . .

create a safe space and good materials for nests and dens . . .

like our Easter Basket door decoration, which is still up because . . .

we heard the cheep, cheep, cheep of baby bird beaks coming from behind the bunny . . .

you can hang a fancy bird feeder . . .

Or just make friends with a few wounded locals . . .

However you celebrate Earth Day, I hope you took a moment today, and every day, to help an animal find food, water and a little bit of peace and quiet in a very, very busy world  . . .
